PAEDIATRIC DENTISTS

A Paediatric Dentist is to dentistry, as a Paediatrician is to medicine. They are accredited by the Australian Dental Board as a specialist who treats children from infancy to adolescence and those with special needs.

Paediatric Dentists are required to undertake further training in addition to their dental degree. They are specifically trained in all aspects of a child’s dental growth and development.

WHY CHILDREN’S DENTAL CARE?

As your child grows from infancy into their teens their dental needs changes. Paediatric Dentists are clinically trained to recognise this and are well placed to treat any potential dental problems, while it can be managed easily.

When diagnosed early, this may avoid costly and extensive dental treatment later. Paediatric dentists are concerned about your child’s total health care and good oral health is an important part of total health.
